I was banned by my family because there is no place for gays, I’m again banned from the top 3. Because I keep pushing for this injustice. And I would like to tell my story here.
I wrote me in, in 2016 for the mister gay election in Belgium. But I didn’t for no reasen, I had a very big and clear goal in my mind. Where many peoply do not dare to go for my theme: LGBT within the multicultural world as the muslim community. A number of large organizations that are busy around LGBT themes find this a difficult and even dangerous object.
LGBT people within the cultural communities there almost never hear about, or that target is not enough put in the spotlight while there are many more problems as in Western culture.
During the election I have participated in, and as the first Muslim in full gone for the cultural community. This I can do because I also have felt itself. By my coming out story, I could not only reach many of people, but also impressed people. So I showed the problems occur when cultural youth, as their family finds out they turn out to be gay.
But the past year a gave to the newspaper, magazines and tv shows a lot of interviews. My participation was not only picked up in Belgium but also abroad such as: Morocco, Norway, England, France, Germany, Czech Republic, and many other countries. With interviews you can spread a story and wake people up that there is more than just the LGBT rights where we fighting for. I didn’t stay backward but decided during my election to go to a lot of organizations to talk about my theme. So I ended up in a lot of LGBT associations and I could inspire them with my story but also with a lot of examples from my own experience. I wanted to reach not only the Muslims but also a lot of young people beyond.

The past year I was not only active in Belgium but also in the Netherlands, along with the Organization the Moroccan boat. I shared my vision and worked with their further from Belgium. By beating the hands together we can reach a wider audience.
We are now more than six months later by the election and I still driven with my theme. Now I want to target mosques. And who knows that we are working with a number of mosques also a project able to talk about to the LGBT theme within the Muslim community.
As you can read between the lines is my biggest goal was always been the help people, the people stand for me in the Centre. That brand I see daily to very many positive reactions from the Muslim community that I’m been seen as role model and really go for my purpose.
My look back to the election: I'm more self secure and have a lot of good friends. In the final I ended up as 1st runner up.
After the election, I continue with my theme, which is not always evident. I do not want like most other candidates to be in the shadows, and keep my theme wedding. Peculiar to such elections is that the new mister fully to be in to the spotlight. I would like to just say that I wish the very best to the current mister.
I went with the best intent and from my drive. I alerted the Organization of every step I put, I was also not the mister! I brought the organization not in a negative light. I was indeed not the puppet of MGB who wants to orchestrate from what I may or may not to do.
I wanted to not only beautiful creature with a Ribbon that I've earned during the election. I wanted more, I wanted to make a difference. But the Organization could not stand. I did indeed not always beautiful in the row to stand up to the organization. I chose a genuine faith where everyone can be happy. Because I still totally for my theme also chose and still keep going. I was this month banned from the organization from the top 3.
4 years ago I was banned by my family, for the sake that I’m gay. Now I am banned again, not because of my orientation but because I prefer to help other people then the Organization. and want to show them a real ambassadorship. I want an authentic story and true to myself.
